If Drake doesn’t do anything else, he is going to support his friends!
Houston Chronicle notes that Drake’s ties to Houston, TX, run deep as he credits a show that took place on May 8, 2009 at Warehouse Live as the launching pad for his career.
So, it only makes sense that he supports the city’s local businesses.
According to the Houston Chronicle, during a visit to the city, the Toronto native surprised a group of hungry fans at Bun B’s Trill Burgers.
Trill Burgers
As previously reported by AfroTech, rapper and entrepreneur Bun B opened his first brick-and-mortar location for the smash burger restaurant in his hometown of Houston in early June 2023.
“It’s been a long time coming, not just for us, but for anybody that’s had a Trill Burger or wanted a Trill Burger and couldn’t get one,” said Bun B. “We’ve been working hard to find the right location to make it as easily accessible to as many people as possible.”
Now, the community can access the burgers, which were voted the “No. 1 Burger in America” by “Good Morning America” in 2022, at its Montrose location.
The Nod
Additionally, Trill Burgers — co-founded by the UGK member and his business partner Andy Nguyen — can now add Drake’s stamp of approval to its list of accolades.
“This is my mentor, one of my mentors, one of my favorite people in the world,” said Drake in a post shared on his Instagram Story. “The best burger I’ve ever had, for real.”
It all started with the “OG Burger” — two all-beef patties, “Trill Sauce,” pickles, caramelized onions, and American cheese on a potato roll bun. Plus, Trill Burgers is set to expand its menu offerings with a Vegan OG Burger, Triple OG Burger, Baby G and more.
Hours of operation are between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m, seven days a week.
