Michael B. Jordan makes moves behind the scenes too!

As the co-founder of Obsidianworks, Jordan alongside the company’s founder Chad Easterling, lead a culture-powered marketing agency built with the goal of building a more inclusive era of brand storytelling.

The pair works with a core team of senior leadership which includes CAA alum and nonprofit advisor René Spellman and creative marketing agency veteran Bobby Moore III. Together, they bring both unique perspectives and a resume stacked with the expertise of having helped establish the agency as a go-to resource for major global brands who seek to reach Gen-Z, millennial, and multicultural communities.

We created Obsidianworks to offer ambitious brands something new, brave, and different,” said Chad Easterling, CEO of Obsidianworks in an official press release. An agency that reflects the diverse community that we belong to, and reminds the industry that ‘multicultural marketing’ is mainstream marketing. We are proud to be partnering with 160over90 to expand our capabilities and help brands and talent benefit from a wider range of stories and storytellers, and reach vital communities, especially Gen-Z and millennials, in new ways.”

Founded in November 2020, Obsidianworks was behind the launch of Outlier Society’s free community-focused summer screening series “A Night at the Drive-In,” and also had a hand in a few of the elements for the rollout for Jordan’s latest film, “Without Remorse.”

Chad and I have been building the foundation for Obisidianworks for years, and I’m thrilled to be finally taking this venture to the next level,” continued Michael B. Jordan, Executive Chairman of Obsidianworks in the statement. Our goal is to bridge the gap between clients and culture. We will look to elevate new voices and fresh perspectives in everything we do. 160over90 was the perfect partner to help further our commitment to a new era of storytelling that opens the door for more inclusive, authentic stories and campaigns.”

Not only is Obsidianworks unique, but it provides a refreshing first-hand look at the culture from its perspective as a Black-owned and led marketing agency.
