Rapper, producer, and entrepreneur Rick Ross built his musical identity around being a boss resulting in a $40 million net worth.

Ross released his debut single “Hustlin’” in 2006 and definitely lived up to his lyrics. He signed a multi-million dollar deal with Def Jam Records in 2007 and made $2 million within his first year, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

BET reports his debut album “Port of Miami” featuring the popular single “Push It,” sold almost one million copies. He released another top-charting album with Def Jam before founding Maybach Music Group in 2009.

That year his earnings doubled — jumping from $3 million to $6 million — after signing new acts like Wale and Meek Mill to his label. However, he also began exploring business opportunities outside of music.

Ross owns at least 25 Wingstop franchises and, according to The Source, each franchise makes $200,000 in annual sales. In 2014, he reportedly made $7 million from his Wingstop investments.

He is also an ambassador for the Ciroc liquor brand.
