Lil Baby has certainly come a long way from his humble beginnings.

The man born Dominique Armani Jones on Dec. 3, 1994, could have had a hard life in Atlanta, GA. His father left the family when he was just two-years-old. He dropped out of high school in his freshman year. And in 2012, he was arrested on several charges — including possession with intent to sell.

But despite this inauspicious beginning, Lil Baby proves that it’s not about where you’ve come from, but where you’re going. In 2016, after he was released from his last prison stint, he teamed up with Quality Control Music to form his own label, 4PF (4 Pockets Full). From there, he began releasing a string of hit songs that would — according to Celebrity Net Worth — give him a net worth of $5 million and growing.

In May 2021, Lil Baby made headlines when he visited the White House with George Floyd’s family to demand justice for Floyd’s murder. According to NME, he also met with Vice President Kamala Harris during that trip.

In short, he’s proven that he’s not just a flash in the pan — he’s a rapper with a plan that’s here to stay. Let’s take a look at how Lil Baby has started to build his empire.

In an interview with XXL Magazine, Lil Baby revealed that he opened up 4PF Kennel (which stands for 4 Pockets Full Kennel) with a friend who is also a part of his rap crew. The friend, who goes by 4PF Don Juan Army, said in an Instagram post that Lil Baby helped him on his entrepreneurial journey after he’d gotten out of prison. The kennel seems to specialize in pit bulls.

According to Complex Magazine, Lil Baby said he would be opening up a restaurant in Atlanta in 2021.

“Actually, I have a new restaurant and I’ma open it in Atlanta,” he said to the outlet. “It was supposed to be open by January, but we had to finish the stages, so maybe, February, March.”

COVID being what it is, though, the restaurant didn’t open when it was supposed to. In a video interview with B High ATL, though, Lil Baby said the restaurant — whose name has not been released — would be opening up by the end of the year.
