Wiz Khalifa seems to be tapping in with college athletes through his music label and management company Taylor Gang Entertainment.

Endorsed By Taylor Gang Entertainment

According to On3, the “Black and Yellow’ emcee has signed 25 athletes to endorsement deals. What’s more, it’s said to be one of the first for a music label to tap into the new name, image, and likeness (NIL) opportunities offered to student-athletes.

The outlet reports the athletes were to promote his “45 Minute Breakdown” track, which features both Wiz Khalifa and Lil Uzi Vert.

In the deal — which was reportedly orchestrated by the Texas-based, NIL-driven A&P Agency — each student will receive compensation for sharing a video of themselves dancing to the song with a link to their Instagram Stories.

“Right now in the music industry, there is no better marketing tool to communicate to the college demographic effectively except for our athletes that have a vast following consisting of students and alumni which we have developed over our course of our relationship with our athletes,” said Stefan Aguilera, Co-Founder of A&P Agency, during an interview with On3. “A&P Agency is the optimal choice for the music industry, not just because we represent the best athletes, but because nobody understands the college market better than us speaking in terms of creative marketing.”

The NIL Rule

As previously reported by AfroTech, since the NCAA updated the NIL policy for student-athletes in 2021, they have proven to be quite lucrative.

Brands like Chipotle, Bojangles, and more have joined in on tapping in with young sports professionals to help promote their businesses.

AfroTech also reported that LeBron James’ eldest son, known as Bronny, even inked a NIL deal with Nike.
