Rapper Wiz Khalifa is taking an innovative approach to the food industry with his latest business venture.

This week, the multi-platinum selling, Grammy and Golden Globe-nominated recording artist announced a new partnership with Nextbite — a Denver-based pioneer in the virtual restaurant space and food on-demand revolution — to launch HotBox by Wiz, a delivery-only restaurant chain coming to cities nationwide this fall.

Khalifa’s new venture follows in the footsteps of other fellow musicians who have explored the delivery-only restaurant model, including producer Steve Aoki’s Aoki Pizza, rapper Tyga’s Tyga Bites, and Post Malone’s partnership with Howlin’ Ray — which nearly broke the Postmates app — according to Eater Los Angeles.

HotBox By Wiz is set to launch on Oct. 1 in Los Angeles and then nationwide shortly after.

Outside of Los Angeles, HotBox by Wiz also has plans to operate in cities like Pittsburgh, Chicago, Denver, Washington, D.C., Indianapolis, Houston, and New York City. Additional locations will be launched on a monthly basis via fan voting.

According to a press release, the menu for the restaurant chain will be curated by Khalifa himself in addition to feedback from his fans.

Khalifa — known for being a cannabis connoisseur — is incorporating his own stoner-friendly dishes that make reference to his songs as well as 4/20, Eater Los Angeles reports.

Los Angeles Daily News also reports that HotBox by Wiz will be available through mobile apps such as Uber Eats, DoorDash, Postmates, and Grubhub.
