Say Cheese! Smile Savvy Cosmetic Dentistry has scored a partnership with the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets.

According to Yahoo!News, the Black-owned practice — founded by Drs. Drew and Joya Lyons — became “the first and only Black-owned dental partner and one of the few Black-owned companies to have a partnership deal with the NBA.”

“We are proud to enter this partnership with Drs. Drew and Joya Lyons and their Charlotte-based, Black-owned business, Smile Savvy Cosmetic Dentistry,” Fred Whitfield, Hornets President & Vice Chairman, said in a statement. “We look forward to bringing them into our Hornets family and teaming with them to help share healthy smiles.”

Under the partnership, Smile Savvy will obtain the rights to the purple and teal Hornet logo and marks. The dental practice will also have an exclusive series titled, “Smile Savvy Smile Watch” which will present sincere photos of fans, employees, coaches, fans and the Hornets players.

Furthermore, two lucky winners will be able to tap into a “Date Night” package presented by the Hornets and Smile Savvy. Winners will receive an exclusive behind-the-scenes-pregame experience, premium tickets, and fine dining from the Crown Club.

In addition, Smile Savvy will now have a dedicated section for branding on birthday announcements featured on the Spectrum Center scoreboard, and it’s only fitting that the dental brand present the highly anticipated “Smile Cam.”

With a plethora of incentives for the Charlotte Hornets franchise, the partnership will certainly touch the hearts and smiles of many.

“Smiles are a major part of human connection and interaction. During the pandemic, people not only missed seeing the smiles of others, but also realized how valuable they are when it comes to employment and other opportunities,” Dr. Drew Lyons said in a press release in August of 2021. “By partnering with the Charlotte Hornets, we know that we can touch more who desire to have healthy smiles to open more doors through both our office and our charitable arm, the Lyons Share.”
