Rapper GloRilla is stepping into the beauty-tech world.

In a conversation with V-103 Atlanta, the Grammy-nominated artist said she is a “big believer in making money in your sleep.” As AFROTECH™ previously reported, she aspires to become a billionaire and has made strategic business moves, including investing in real estate and launching GloVerse, an on-demand beauty tech platform.

Black Beauty Founders reports that GloRilla was inspired to start the venture by a pain point she experienced on the road. When she needed beauty services, she would scour social media for anyone available.

“Sometimes we’ll get a reply. Sometimes they’ll reply but not be available,” said GloRilla, born Gloria Woods in Memphis, TN. “So it was just super frustrating all the way around.”

She added, “Sometimes I was booking people because I had to, because no one else was going to do it. And I got messed up a few times.”

GloVerse is described as “your home for on-demand glam,” according to Black Beauty Founders. Georgii Speakman, founder and CEO of OUT.LI.ER, is also a co-founder of the venture.

Customers can also create an account to access providers who are organized by hair, braids, makeup, and nail services, per Black Beauty Founders. These Glam Professional profiles will also highlight a provider’s specialty, price points, and star rating.

Additionally, customers are able to search more specifically with filters for hair type and face shape.

“Some of my favorite functions within the app are being able to put in your hair type and your face shape,” GloRilla told Forbes. “That’s my favorite part because it’s very specific to what you want. And I like that we included a function where professionals can travel to their client, or consumers can choose whether they want to go to the place to get their services. I really like everything about the app.”

Forbes reports that GloVerse also integrates AI recommendations to suggest nearby beauty professionals based on customers’ preferences.

GloVerse is available as a web-based platform and on Google Play, with the company planning to launch on the App Store by the end of 2026, per Black Beauty Founders.

“My expectations is for GloVerse to be the biggest on demand glam app and just the biggest app anyway. I’m always aiming for the stars, so I wanted to be the biggest,” GloRilla told V-103 Atlanta.
