Aliyah Kamala has a lot to celebrate!
Kamala — the boss behind Kamala Enterprises — was recently selected by global superstar Ciara to participate in the Meta Elevate program. The Meta Program, as AfroTech previously reported, consists of 10 small business owners who will be supported by Meta for six weeks to ensure they have a pathway to success. And for Aliyah Kamala, the news came as a shock.
Just within the last year, Aliyah Kamala left her position as a school teacher to scale Kamala Enterprises. Aliyah Kamala’s recent victory proved her new direction had a purpose. In addition, the realization that Ciara believed in her entrepreneurial vision fueled a fire within her soul to continue leveling up!
The once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was made possible thanks to Elevate’s Facebook group. Aliyah Kamala joined the Meta Elevate Facebook group following a hunt for community, resources, and organizations offering support to Black and brown entrepreneurs.
“I’ve been in that group for over a year now and I’ve been able to tap into a lot of what they offer,” Aliyah Kamala told AfroTech. “That’s what led me to apply for the Meta partnership with Ciara, which has been amazing because as a full-time entrepreneur, you have to walk with courage and figure things out. This was a great nudge along the way to say, ‘Hey you’re doing a great job, keep going, there’s more to this than where you are now. So, I’m happy to be here.”
Kamala Enterprises
Kamala is determined to leverage Meta’s resources to take her business to new heights. Kamala Enterprises is a consulting agency encouraging female entrepreneurs to climb to the top while embracing radical self-care and avoiding burnout.
“I’m focused on doing a deep dive with clients so I can get more transformation in what I am doing. My goal is not just to work with the client on a business level, but to nurture the client through wellness as well,” Kamala told AfroTech. “Entrepreneurs, especially women in business, work so hard, we have family, we have our relationships, we’re balancing so much. I think it’s important to address the whole person.”
Over 90 days, Kamala Enterprises offers accountability, support, and strategies to scale your business. Entrepreneurs who tap in will receive a free 15-minute discovery call to gauge personal needs, a one-on-one strategy to help breakthrough ongoing challenges, and a VIP Day offering an eight-hour work plan to pinpoint challenges and areas to improve.
Kamala Enterprises’ services are especially helpful for Black women entrepreneurs as they often face the most obstacles and are under-compensated despite being one of the fastest-growing sectors of entrepreneurs.
“Women entrepreneurs are least likely to ask for help and we’re least likely to charge our worth and least likely to raise our prices,” she said to AfroTech. “To me, this was a cry for help. So, I wanted to be a resource to show there are bigger and better opportunities and teach women to own their space.”
How Kamala Will Elevate Female Entrepreneurs
As AfroTech previously told you, Kamala alongside nine other entrepreneurs will receive creative support, marketing mentorship, and a scholarship to complete the Meta Blueprint digital marketing skills certificate. Meta will also distribute $100,000 in ad credits and creative support even after the entrepreneurs complete the six-week program.
It is Kamala’s hope that the opportunity will help scale her business by building on services offered to current clients, increasing visibility to reach new members, and releasing new course modules. Outside of consulting, Kamala also enjoys writing in her past time and aims to launch more books centered on wellness in the near future.
Her current works are “Life Is a Gift: How to Use Affirmations to Transform Your Life” and “Ready Set Glow Journal: 90 Days to a Healthier Happier You.”
