Bringing In The Big Bucks
According to Forbes, Lame drew in $10 million in 2021, thanks to his social media stardom.
As previously reported by AfroTech, Senegalese-born comedian Khabane Lame became the most followed content creator on TikTok this past June, dethroning Charli DβAmelio, who had previously held the top spot.
He Doesn't Say A Word
The 22-year-old is responsible for creating comedy skits that make a mockery of overly complicated βlife hacks.β What makes his content so unique is that Lame never says a word, but instead allows his facial expressions and gestures to do all of the talking.
He's The World's Most-Followed TikToker
Lame is proof in the pudding that sometimes less really is more, because it is this strategy that led him to garnering more than 146 million followers on TikTok and becoming the most-followed person in the world.
But, Is He The Highest-Paid TikToker?
Despite being the worldβs most-followed TikToker, it was revealed that Lame is still not the top-paid influencer on the application.
In fact, his earnings fell well below those of his white counterparts, like the aforementioned Charli DβAmelio, who topped the 2022 Forbes Top Creator list at No. 2 with total earnings of $17.5 million.
Lame's Rise To Fame
Like many people, Lame found himself without a job at the top of 2020 after losing his position as a factory worker in Italy due to the effects of the pandemic.
From there, much like most of the world, he found solace in social media during a time when the world was shut down. What started out as skits on the internet has led the young content creator to not only have a huge presence on the Internet, but in July 2022, he inked a deal with Binance, a cryptocurrency exchange company.
World Domination
Thus far, Lame has been tapped to help Pepsi introduce its first-ever nitrogen-infused cola and heβs inked a multi-year deal with Hugo Boss.

In addition to that, the young content creator even appeared in Facebookβs Metaverse ad.
Now, he comes in as No. 8 on Forbes 2022 Top Creators list and was named to its 2022 30 Under 30 Europe.
It looks Khaby Lame is here to stay!
