Pharrell Williams’ winning streak continues. This time the legendary producer has been tapped to lead as the chief brand officer of the Doodles NFT project. The news comes on the heels of a successful second installment of his Something in the Water festival during the Juneteenth holiday weekend. It was also just a week after he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame alongside his partner of The Neptunes, Chad Hugo. Now, Decrypt reports that the “Happy” singer will help to build the larger Doodles team “from the core community outward.” Pharrell shared a video statement in which he expressed that he is a “big fan” of Doodles and is happy to also join the company’s board along with his new role.

In 2021, producer-turned-entrepreneur Pharrell made the news because of his decision to open up private schools for low-income students. The Virginia native has frequently spoken up for those without a voice and has given back to his community as well. “If the system is fixed and unfair, then it needs to be broken,” he said about his investment. “We don’t want lockstep learning where so many kids fall behind; we want bespoke learning designed for each child, where the things that make a child different are the same things that will make a child rise up and take flight.” Since that time, Pharrell and his vision continue to be impactful. According to WAVY-TV, other companies have helped take up his cause with the Virginia school system, as well. Collaboration is one of the most powerful forms of currency, and the proof is evidenced by Pharrell Williams and HEINEKEN USA. In a recent press release, HEINEKEN USA announced a partnership with Pharrell’s nonprofit venture, Black Ambition. In 2020, the nonprofit was founded to help close the wealth gap through entrepreneurship. According to the company’s website, Black Ambition “invests capital and resources in high-growth startups founded by Black and Latinx HBCU students and entrepreneurs.” To date, Black Ambition has awarded $3.2 million to 34 business owners in the sectors of technology, goods and services, healthcare, and design.
