When you put your coins behind Black storytelling, the possibilities are endless! Following up on previous news shared by AfroTech, Audible continues its global multi-year, multi-project development, production, and audio licensing deal alongside comedian and actor Kevin Hart and renowned journalist and best-selling author Charlamagne Tha God. “We are excited to introduce our listeners to the dynamic inaugural slate of content from our collaboration with Kevin Hart and Charlamagne Tha God’s SBH Productions,” said Zola Mashariki, Head of Audible Studios, in an official press release shared with AfroTech. “Audible is dedicated to telling powerful stories and showcasing established and underrepresented voices in audio, and SBH’s first collection of projects will offer Audible listeners rich, multifaceted narratives.”

Queen Latifah Snags Exclusive First-Look Deal With Audible

Queen Latifah has entered into a new, exclusive deal with Audible. In a press release announcement, it was revealed that the rap legend and star of CBS’s hit show “The Equalizer” has entered into a first-look deal with the audiobook streaming company. Through Flavor Unit — the production company she co-founded with longtime business partner Shakim Compere — the Queen will produce exclusive audio content for the platform. The first bit of content up for proffer is called Streets, “Rhymes & Sugar: A Hip-Hop Memoir,” and it’s from entrepreneur and screenwriter Michael Elliot (“Brown Sugar,” “Just Wright,” “Like Mike”), which will be released on August 5, 2021. This short-form Audible Original will chronicle Elliot’s path from a homeless teenager on the streets of Philadelphia to a successful screenwriter. Also coming from Elliot is a scripted romantic comedy, “Technically Speaking,” about a single mom who falls for the founder of the big tech company she works for in Silicon Valley....

Media giants Kevin Hart and Charlamagne Tha God have announced an exclusive partnership with online platform Audible in an effort to bring forth more Black voices to the forefront of culturally-nuanced conversations, Forbes reports .
