Master P is on to his next business move, but this time it’s in Nashville, TN.
While his son Hercy Miller plays for Tennessee State University, the business mogul has his eyes on expanding his restaurant franchise, Big Poppa Burgers, according to BizJournals.
As previously reported by AfroTech, Miller committed to playing basketball for Tennessee State University and secured a $2 million NCAA endorsement deal earlier this year.
Big Poppa Burgers currently has two locations in the rap legend’s hometown of New Orleans, LA. As Master P’s now a part-time resident of Nashville, he plans for the city to be another area to spark building wealth in the community.
“This is like my second home now,” Master P told BizJournals. “I just fell in love with the culture and the people. My son plays basketball for TSU: He’s an A student, majoring in business. I’m in and out and will be able to spend a lot more time here. In New Orleans, I have my Big Poppa Burgers restaurant chain, so I’m looking for places to put that here and create over avenues of income in the real estate business here.”
Big Poppa Burgers launched in 2019 and as the business operates, local communities receive a partial funding from its proceeds.
Along with the plans of his franchise expansion, Master P hopes to be a part of helping Nashville grow into a booming business community.
“If you are creating future entrepreneurs and putting money back into the community, you’ll take away poverty and crime,” he said. “You’re building, you’re educating, showing them there’s another way. What can we do together, how can we grow this bigger and faster? Creating that diversity in the business world in Nashville and also bringing people together. The goal is to build generational wealth. The key is to get started.”
