Master P is on to his next business move, but this time it’s in Nashville, TN. While his son Hercy Miller plays for Tennessee State University, the business mogul has his eyes on expanding his restaurant franchise, Big Poppa Burgers, according to BizJournals. As previously reported by AfroTech, Miller committed to playing basketball for Tennessee State University and secured a $2 million NCAA endorsement deal earlier this year. Big Poppa Burgers currently has two locations in the rap legend’s hometown of New Orleans, LA. Dolly Parton will always love Whitney Houston and her new noble revelation is proof of that. During an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” this week, the singer and songwriter revealed that she’s been using royalties that she’s collected from Houston’s version of “I Will Always Love You” — which was originally sung by Parton — to invest in a Black Tennessee community, TMZ reports. Black woman-owned Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey is breaking ground in new territory! Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey is on the right track as the fastest-growing American whiskey brand in U.S. history. Now, the company has announced that it just closed a $2.1 million deal to acquire an additional 53.12 acres of land on Highway 231 North which is in close proximity to its Nearest Green Distillery. According to PR Newswire, the land will not only bring the distillery’s total acreage to 323.12, but will also extend its building to over half a mile along the highway. According to Black Business, Slim and Husky’s Pizza — the first-ever Black-owned pizza and beer restaurant chain — was co-founded by three best friends in Tennessee. This Tennessee teen just became one of the youngest students to ever attend Clark Atlanta University (CAU). Emory Pruitt — now 16-years-old — joined the class of 2020 this fall, making her one of the youngest students to ever attend the HBCU located in Atlanta, Georgia, per GA Followers . In a statement, CAU officials shared that while Pruitt may have graduated with a 3.7 GPA, her path to college was not easy. “At her hometown high school, she was mocked for being a young Black woman who dared to dream big,” a CAU spokesperson wrote, according to GA Followers. “But the racism and adversity, along with strong family support, only strengthened Pruitt’s resolve.” What makes this even more special for Pruitt is the fact that her brother, Elijah was also accepted to attend Clark Atlanta this year.
