Wizkid continues to make waves globally.

According to a press release, the Grammy-award-winning artist just inked a deal as Flutterwave’s new Global Brand Ambassador. Africa’s leading payment provider’s announcement comes at the same time as the news of Send, a remittance solution that was designed to increase remittance flow and uptake to the African continent. 

“Wizkid’s story is that of hard work, resilience, and excellence,” said Olugbenga “GB” Agboola, Flutterwave CEO and Founder, in an official press release. “The way he constantly represents Africa in the global entertainment stage is something we love. As a leading technology company out of Africa, our values align and we’re excited to have him join us to drive adoption for Send.”

The Partnership

Both Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, and Flutterwave share a common goal — to showcase the “best of Africa” for the rest of the world to see. Now, they will join forces to elevate and continue the mission.

The overall goal is to provide Africans all over with access to the new remittance solution.

Send By Flutterwave

Flutterwave plans to offer its customers a more straightforward solution to how they send money across all parts of Africa from within the continent and the globe through Send. The new feature will also allow Africans easy access to fund overseas bank accounts.

As previously reported by AfroTech, the African payments company has been on a roll, having closed a $170 million Series C seed round back in March, bringing the company’s value to more than $1 billion.
