Social media personality Druski is taking his talents from comedy to sports.
Boardroom reports that Fan Controlled Football (FCF) League now has a new ownership group for the club formerly known as the Wild Aces, and the online comedian is a part of it.
Druski will be joining LA Chargers’ Austin Ekeler and TV host Rachel Lindsay, along with fellow newcomer Altered State Machine — a non-fungible intelligence platform.
“I’m pumped to be joining FCF not only as an owner, but of the reigning champion Wild Aces,” Druski said in a statement, according to Boardroom. “I love everything about this league, and look forward to crushing this with ASM, Austin and Rachel. Hope our fans are ready to call all the shots and keep the FCF title where it belongs. This is going to be fun.”
Fan Controlled Football Co-founder and CEO Sohrob Farudi shares a statement:
“We are thrilled to welcome Altered State Machine and Druski to the FCF. Their ownership group is the epitome of what we’re building, pro football built from the ground up to take advantage of the latest technology, while never forgetting that at the heart of the product is the fan entertainment experience. ASM’s A.I. tech, Ekeler’s world class football knowledge, and Druski and Rachel’s comedy and entertainment prowess are coming together to lead the reigning FCF champs into next season and beyond.”
'Tis The Season
According to the outlet, FCF’s season will begin on Apr. 16.
Fan Controlled Football
In September 2020, FCF announced that their Season v1.0 was to launch in February 2021. Since then, the league has partnered with rapper Quavo and former professional athletes Marshawn Lynch, Richard Sherman, Dalvin Cook, and Renee Montgomery, who are all owners, according to a press release.
“We are pushing boundaries and pioneering a new category of immersive sports that will be a seismic shift in the worlds of sport and entertainment,” said Farudi in a past statement. “Fan Controlled Football is IRL meets URL. For the first time in sports history, fans get to call the shots for their team, everything from team branding, player selection, and real-time play calling is decided by the fans. This is the future of sports and we’re excited to co-create history with the fans.”
