Entrepreneur Jayda Cheaves is more than your average social media influencer or the woman who is famous for dating and having a baby with rapper Lil Baby. From launching her own hair business to being an ambassador for brands like Savage x Fenty and Fashion Nova, the mother of one is just one of a few influencers that flipped her social capital into a lucrative cash flow that made her a successful entrepreneur.

Who Is Jayda Cheaves?

According to an interview with ESSENCE, Jayda Cheaves — better known as “Jayda Wayda” online — detailed all the ways content creation and building her name as a brand has helped her in her upwards journey of entrepreneurship.

“Everything you post is marketable,” she says revealing the key to growing a large following online. “You have have to watch what you post and certain things you have to post because it helps your engagement.”

This formula for her social media etiquette is what helped garner over 288,000 followers on an Instagram page for her yet-to-be-released “Waydaminmerch” clothing collection (even the Instagram teaser videos for the collection have well over 300,000 views).

Jayda Wayda has over 5.8 million followers on Instagram and 142,500 on Twitter, not to mention her YouTube page that currently sits at 326,000 plus subscribers. All these social profiles started becoming popular after Cheaves’ relationship and ties to Lil Baby became known. However, Jayda Cheaves is a 23-year-old influencer and entrepreneur for the most part who has built her own reputation from the ground up.

What Does Jayda Cheaves Do?

Yes, she’s built quite the reputation, but what exactly does Jayda Cheaves do? According to Cheaves, she’s “always been really big on social media” describing herself as the lit girl in her city of Savannah, GA. Even before the boom of the social media era, Cheaves had a hustler spirit selling her grandmother’s baked treats at school, so she knew she was destined to be a boss one day. She later found her next entrepreneurial venture on retail marketplace app Poshmark where she successfully sold her barely worn clothes, which helped fund her t-shirt business.

At just 16-years-old, Cheaves says her brand took off and at the same time so were her social media pages, gradually gaining follows from supporters and even celebrities. Now, after dabbling in her own hair brand, she says she’s focusing on launching her own line of merchandise.

Being a young business owner isn’t an easy accomplishment, but Jayda Cheaves says the love she receives outweighs the hate and that’s what helps keep her motivated. Her get-money mentality has always been instilled in her, so her “stack your paper, stack your coins” mantra is what she likes to use to stay focused on her goals and what’s ahead of her. For her, social media built the foundation but now she’s looking to make her mark in other places.

“Social media is very beneficial, don’t get me wrong, but it’s way bigger than [that],” she tells ESSENCE. “20 years from now when social media might not even be the same, I still want to be the same Jayda that I am today.”

Outside of her business ventures, Cheaves is also set to make her big screen acting debut in an unnamed film that kicked off production last month.

What Is Jayda Cheaves’ Net Worth In 2021?

While Jayda Cheaves’ net worth in 2021 is unclear, in 2018, she revealed she made over $2 million from her hair company alone.

“[From] 2016 [to] 2018, I made $2.5 million, and that was just off of hair,” Jayda Cheaves told rolling out. “That wasn’t my clothing website, other people, nothing. My numbers always change though.”
