Doja Cat is giving fans a front-row seat to tour life on the road, this time through her eyes.

According to Meta, the GRAMMY-winning superstar has released “MA VIE WORLD TOUR,” a new documentary short filmed using Ray-Ban Meta glasses. The project offers fans an intimate look at her “Tour Ma Vie World Tour,” captured from Doja Cat’s own perspective.

First-Of-Its-Kind Tour Documentary

Quinn Whitney Wilson directed the 12-minute film. Her credits include the documentary “Jean-Michel Basquiat” and music video “Lizzo: Juice.” This latest film follows Doja Cat and her inner circle as they travel across seven countries during the European leg of the tour. Meta describes the project as a first-of-its-kind documentary, filmed through the artist’s and her crew’s glasses.

The result is a rare glimpse into life on tour. Viewers get to stand in the wings moments before Doja Cat takes the stage and face the crowd as the lights come up. They also get a seat in the glam chair alongside her team and a behind-the-scenes look at life between shows. According to Meta, the documentary brings audiences into Doja Cat’s world of art, music, and fashion from a perspective they have never experienced before.

The film premieres Oct. 23 on Doja Cat’s YouTube channel. Its release comes during a major week for the artist, who celebrates her 31st birthday on Oct. 21 before taking the stage at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Oct. 22.

The Tour Is Coming To Meta Lab LA

For fans in Los Angeles, the experience extends beyond the screen. According to Meta, a Doja Cat-themed takeover at the Meta Lab LA store runs from Saturday, Oct. 17, through Sunday, Oct. 25. Visitors can get an up-close look at her iconic “Tour Ma Vie” performance outfits, alongside the custom Ray-Ban Meta glasses she wore on stage and used to capture the documentary.

Visitors can also demo Ray-Ban Meta glasses and try on frames like the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) Zena and Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) Aviator. These frames serve as the foundation for the custom styles Doja Cat wears on stage during the current North American leg of her tour, though her exact styles are not available for purchase. Still, Meta notes that customers who purchase Ray-Ban Meta glasses can receive exclusive Doja Cat collectibles while supplies last, including limited-edition lens cloths and custom case engravings.

Doja Cat’s History With Immersive Fan Experiences

This isn’t the artist’s first time using technology to bring fans closer to her creative world. As AFROTECH™ previously reported, Doja Cat partnered with Girls Who Code to launch DojaCode, an interactive experience centered on her music video for “Woman.” Doja Cat described the project as the world’s first codable music video.

Through a dedicated microsite, fans were introduced to three coding languages and guided through writing code that could alter elements of the video in real time, from nail designs to the sky itself. AFROTECH™ reported that the initiative aimed to introduce young girls to the limitless career opportunities in STEM while sparking their curiosity about the field’s creative possibilities.

“Fans all over the world will get to input code via a microsite and unlock some really cool special features,” Doja Cat said in a statement at the time, according to AFROTECH™.

Blending Music, Fashion, And Technology

From a codable music video to a documentary captured through smart glasses, Doja Cat keeps exploring new ways to connect fans with her artistry. With “MA VIE WORLD TOUR,” she’s taking that experience a step further, giving audiences more than a performance and inviting them to see the tour through her own eyes.
