Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly reached billionaire status.

According to a report from former Forbes editor Zack O’Malley Greenburg, major players in Hip-Hop pooled a combined $3.8 billion. This number shows a 20 percent increase from pre-pandemic.

Two of the five names on the list are the only ones to have reached the gleaming ten-figure digit club. Jay-Z tops the list, and boasts a $1.5 billion net worth, with most of his earnings credited to his Armand de Brignac champagne and Roc Nation entertainment agency.

Contributions to Jay-Z’s wealth are also tied to his portfolio of investments in companies such as Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty lingerie line, and his 50 percent ownership stake in D’Ussé cognac, which he reportedly could be looking to sell.

Diddy seems to have joined the club for the first time ever, and his empire has placed his net worth at an estimated $1 billion, thanks to factors like his long-standing CÎROC partnership with Diageo, which brings in an estimated $60 million per year, according to O’Malley.

Diddy also has DeLeón tequila, in which he correctly has a 50 percent stake, plus his media company REVOLT, in which he is the majority shareholder. His music catalog and pockets in startup investments are also credited to contributing to his fortune.

Diddy surpasses West, who was said to be Hip-Hop’s second billionaire. As AfroTech previously mentioned, Forbes estimated West’s fortune to sit at $400 million after adidas ended its partnership.

West’s net worth is credited to his five percent stake in Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS shapewear line, the ownership of his master recordings and music publishing rights, and what is left of Yeezy, as he still owns the trademark.

However, the company emphasized that it’s “the sole owner of all design rights to existing products as well as previous and new colorways under the partnership.”
