Cardi B, Reebok Partner to Launch First-Ever Apparel Collaboration For All Women

Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar — known all over the world as Cardi B — is quickly proving that she’s not just the Queen of Rap, but the Queen of All Media.

In a press release announcement, it revealed that the Grammy winner has unveiled her first-ever apparel collection in partnership with global sneaker company Reebok.

“I’m so proud to announce my first apparel line with Reebok,” Cardi B said on the debut collection, in the press release announcement. “This collection gives every woman the product they need to feel sexy and confident; the waist-snatching tights and curve-hugging silhouettes make everybody — and every body — look amazing.”

According to Reebok, the inspiration for this new line — which is dubbed “The Summertime Fine Collection” — was the 1990s and “summertimes in Coney Island.”

Coney Island — a village in Brooklyn, Kings County, NY — is a quiet little place that becomes a bustling tourist hotspot every summer, with Mermaid Parades and the infamous amusement park that features the back-breaking Cyclone, taking center stage. Interestingly, too, Coney Island has played a very pivotal role in New York’s Black history.

The historical significance of the local spot alongside Cardi B’s collection features — perhaps unsurprisingly — bold colors, including pastel purples and bold reds, that are meant to be unapologetically in your face, much like the rapper herself.

Reports also share that Cardi B tried on every outfit personally before approving it to be sent to production. And, in the interest of inclusivity and body positivity, the sizes available range from XS to 4XL – proving that yes, everybody — and every body — gets some fashion love. It also encourages women to be true to themselves and be themselves, no matter what.

The collection will be available on Reebok’s website beginning on April 23. Kids sizes are also available for select styles.
