New year, new deals! In a press release, it was announced that Black-owned Victor George Spirits (VGS) has closed a deal to purchase an equity stake in Palm Beach Distillery (PBD) located in West Palm Beach, Florida. Currently, PBD produces vodka, rum, and gin with Victor George Spirits products slated to join in on the production. “We feel this is a great opportunity to help Palm Beach Distillery get to the next level. The Victor George Spirits team brings experience, marketing, resources, and distribution opportunities that will help get our award-winning brands in the hands of more consumers,” said Chief Operating Officer and Master Distiller of Palm Beach Distillery Summer Piep in a press release statement.

Fort Lauderdale, FL has plans in motion to welcome its first Black-owned distillery. According to a press release, Victor George Spirits has announced that the Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) board voted unanimously to pledge $2,450,000 to fund the construction of a 15,000-square-foot facility set to house a co-working space, cigar bar, distillery, restaurant and whiskey lounge. The space will be located on the city’s historic Sistrunk Boulevard and will include a rooftop bar. “This will be a signature project on the Sistrunk Corridor!” said Fort Lauderdale Commissioner, Robert McKinzie in an official press release. Earlier this year, Tramar Dillard — also known as platinum-selling Grammy-nominated artist Flo Rida — announced a partnership with Victor G. Harvey Sr. to create South Florida’s largest craft vodka brand, Victor George Vodka (VG Vodka). Now, the two partners have officially kicked off the brand’s launch with several major retailers — including Hy-Vee, Total Wine, Trader Joe’s and Binny’s Beverage Depot.
