These HBCU Graduates Aim To Revitalize Black-Owned Atlantic Beach Through Their Real Estate Investment Company

A historic Black-owned beach in South Carolina is quickly becoming one of the hottest luxury vacation destinations in the states, and it is currently the only incorporated Black beach to sit in the U.S. During the early 1930s, Atlantic Beach was founded by a group of Gullah Geechee as a haven for Black people who were not allowed to occupy the same beaches as white people in South Carolina. Defying Jim Crow laws, the strip of primarily Black-owned coastal properties, dubbed “The Black Pearl,” broadened the enterprises of coastal Gullah Geechee people. A host of hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, and novelty shops were developed just miles from Myrtle Beach. Now, two trailblazing founders are on a mission to continue honoring the rich history that makes up the area. Cee Lo Green has taken a step into the spirits industry. The five-time Grammy-award winner has teamed up with Black-owned Victor George Spirits for a partnership, according to Broadway World.

Victor George Spirits Kicks Off The New Year With An Equity Stake In Palm Beach Distillery

New year, new deals! In a press release, it was announced that Black-owned Victor George Spirits (VGS) has closed a deal to purchase an equity stake in Palm Beach Distillery (PBD) located in West Palm Beach, Florida. Currently, PBD produces vodka, rum, and gin with Victor George Spirits products slated to join in on the production. “We feel this is a great opportunity to help Palm Beach Distillery get to the next level. The Victor George Spirits team brings experience, marketing, resources, and distribution opportunities that will help get our award-winning brands in the hands of more consumers,” said Chief Operating Officer and Master Distiller of Palm Beach Distillery Summer Piep in a press release statement.
