It’s no secret that Nipsey Hussle was a huge fan of Master P and the movement that he started with No Limit Records, but the respect that he had for the icon ran even deeper than that. As a matter of fact, the music mogul, born Percy Miller, came from the exact opposite as a product of Calliope Housing Projects, one of New Orleans’ toughest neighborhoods which gained notoriety as one of the most violent projects in the U.S. back in the 90s. Byron Allen wants Black-owned media to receive what’s rightfully theirs! According to Deadline , The Byron Allen Media Group (AMG) has sued McDonald’s Corp. for $10 billion in damages and alleges that the company has discriminated against Black-owned media. This comes as the high-profile businessman continues to come for big corporations who fail to give Black-owned media a fair shot when it comes to the distribution of massive advertising budgets. Filed in the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles, the lawsuit accuses the fast-food giant of both alleged racial stereotyping and refusing to contract with AMG’s Entertainment Studios and Weather Group in violation of federal and state law. The suit states that while African Americans represent about 40 percent of McDonald’s U.S. sales, African American-owned media receives less than $5 million out of its circulation of $1.6 billion in annual television advertising. The nation’s only Black-owned casino could soon break ground in Virginia. Urban One held a media event on Tuesday morning to announce the $517 million proposal that could bring a resort-style casino to the state’s capital, reports WRIC. Four companies are in the running to spearhead the multi-million dollar project set to take over Richmond. Urban One, a Black-owned media company that owns TV One along with dozens of radio stations, hopes to transform the River City’s southside with a world-class entertainment, dining, and gaming destination. “Our proposal is unparalleled and can not be matched,” said Urban One CEO Alfred Liggins. “We would be creating the only black-owned casino in the United States of America. Perhaps more importantly, our project will be very diverse and inclusive.” The $517 million project could possibly include a 3,000 person capacity theater, broadcast production studios for both film and radio, 150 hotel rooms, 12 restaurants and bars, 50 acres of green space...
