One thing is for certain, and two things are for sure, sports fans will spend almost any amount of money to get their hands on an authentic trading card. Back by popular demand is a rare LeBron James Triple Logoman card that just sold at an auction for a whopping $2.4 million. According to Bleacher Report, the card features the actual NBA logo patch from three of his jerseys with all three of the franchises that he’s played for throughout the course of his career. Therefore, it includes patches from his uniform of where it all started with the Cleveland Cavaliers, as well as those from the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Rare Autographed Stephen Curry Rookie Card Expected To Fetch For Over $500K In Auction

Stephen Curry continues to win on and off the court. During his quest to put another NBA championship under his belt, a rare rookie card just hit the auction market for some big bucks. Hypebeast reports that an autographed 2009 rookie card just hit the PWCC Marketplace this week with initial bidding surpassing $400,000. The 2009 National Treasures card is number 93 out of 99 and is expected to go for over $500,000 upon the end of the auction later this week.

Fanatics Collectibles, Topps Launch Trading Program Welcoming Over 100 University Partnerships

A groundbreaking deal has been struck that will feature college athletes on trading cards and collectibles. According to a press release, Fanatics Collectibles and Topps will launch physical and digital trading cards representing over 100 universities throughout the nation. The deal, which goes into effect beginning in 2023, will involve exclusive and non-exclusive co-branded trading card products and extend to former athletes playing in the NFL, NBA, and MLB “This collection is the first offering of officially licensed collegiate cards featuring current athlete NIL rights. We’re thrilled at the opportunity to launch these comprehensive programs that combine premier student-athletes and elite institutions to create a best-in-class collegiate trading card product for fans and collectors,” said Dave Leiner, Topps Global Vice President and General Manager, according to a press release.

The 'Best Card In Existence' Featuring Kobe Bryant Gets Snagged For $2M

Kobe Bryant is once again making history. TMZ is reporting that a rare card featuring the late Black Mamba was sold in a private estate sale, and it was snagged for a gobsmacking $2 million. The card in question is a 1997-98 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems card. Initially numbered to 100, only 10 of the cards were ever made, and it’s considered the rarest trading card of its kind in existence today. PWCC was the company that brokered the deal, and they informed TMZ that the card in question had an 8.5 out of 10 rating (in terms of its condition and quality). “This is arguably Kobe’s best card in existence,” PWCC exec Jesse Craig said. “It’s more desirable than even a Kobe Bryant rookie card or a Kobe Bryant autograph. These Precious Metal Gems variants are arguably the most desired insert card in the entire world.
