Olympian Al Joyner Purchases The Memorabilia Of His Late Wife Flo-Jo For An Undisclosed Amount

The untimely passing of Florence “Flo-Jo” Griffith Joyner was a tough loss in the sports industry, especially for her husband Al Joyner. In remembrance of his late wife, the track and field Olympian recently received a special surprise. Atlanta Black Star reports that “Storage Wars” host Rene Nezhoda gave Joyner the opportunity to buy back Flo-Jo’s memorabilia. After buying the rare items from the owner of Bargain Hunters thrift store, Nezhoda’s initial plan was to put the items up for auction. According to the TV star, many of Flo-Jo’s family members and friends reached out to him, which resulted in him ultimately making a deal with Joyner. “I want to be very clear. This is not charity; I am making a profit. Al knows what I paid for it and he is the only person that knows what I paid for it,” Nezhoda stated, according to Atlanta Black Star. “I told him the profit I want to make. It’s like a track runner, you want to win.” He added: “We worked out a deal where I can give it back to...

Historic Patch Card Signed By Michael Jordan Sells For A Record-Breaking $2.7M

This Michael Jordan memorabilia is raking in the dough! The NBA legend continues to cause a scene, even well into retirement, after a game-worn patch card with his signature sold for a record-breaking $2.7 million. According to TMZ, the rare card is considered one of the greatest hoop cards ever made. It not only has the basketball star’s autograph, but also includes a swatch of the jersey worn by him during the 1992 NBA All-Star Game (There are only 23 copies of the card). “It makes sense that this card — and the innovative new designs and card styles that it spawned in the industry — is one of the most pivotal in our hobby,” said Ken Goldin, the president of Goldin Auctions who’s responsible for auctioning off the artifact. This is the first card to feature a signature and a piece of a game-worn jersey, which is why experts are calling it historic. Jordan first entered the league in 1984 as a Round 1, third overall pick by the Chicago Bulls, where he played until retiring with the...
