Black-Owned Houston Vodka Company To Launch On Juneteenth Weekend, Proceeds Will Benefit HBCUs Including Texas Southern University

Blossoming from the heart of Houston, another Black-owned vodka company has hit the market. Houston Chronicle reports 10 Black entrepreneurs and peers from Texas Southern University, Prairie View A&M University, The University of Texas at Austin, Wiley College, University of Houston, and Cornell University have joined forces to launch General Orders No. 3. (GO3) — named after the order which freed enslaved people on on June 19, 1865 in Galveston, Texas. The group wanted to launch a Houston-made vodka encapsulating the spirit of Texas’ heritage and culture.

Lori Harvey, Terrell Grice Present HBCU Student $10K AT&T Dream In Black Award

Black entrepreneurs are taking over! Honoring future change-makers, AT&T championed three Black entrepreneurs featured on the “Black Future Makers” series on TV One. The opportunity is designed to spearhead opportunities for leaders, innovators, and activists going above and beyond to make a difference within their communities. YouTube sensation Terrell Grice and entrepreneur Lori Harvey hosted the three-part series. “ I am all about shining a light on amazing, young Black people all over the world. There is so much talent and culture that just needs a chance,” Grice told AfroTech exclusively. “They just need a shot whether it’s capital, visibility, or a mentor and that has always been a passion of mine so when this opportunity came to my door I knew it what perfect for what I believed in.”
