When you’ve got Kevin Hart and Jay-Z on board, the only direction to go is up. At least that’s the case for HUNGRY, a technology-enabled food catering and delivery platform that provides healthy snacks to corporate employees. Forbes reports the subscription-based service — founded by Eman Pahlavani, Shy Pahlevani, and Jeff Grass in 2017 — has now acquired NatureBox.

DoorDash Launches New Initiative Promoting Immigrant And Refugee Business Owners

Today, DoorDash officially launched Kitchens Without Borders , its new initiative aimed at promoting the businesses of immigrants and refugees. In a blog post introducing the program , CEO Tony Xu wrote: “DoorDash’s mission has always been to connect people with possibility by creating valuable opportunities for entrepreneurs to reach new audiences. For immigrant communities facing heightened barriers to success, that goal has become even more important — and for me, it’s at the heart of the company’s story.” According to the initiative’s website, it aims to spotlight the “human stories of immigrant and refugee business owners, fostering deeper connections to the people making the food we enjoy every day.” The way DoorDash has decided to do that is pretty creative. The website hosts a series of vignettes, where each San Francisco Bay Area business owner can discuss their own experiences. WeWork Is Launching An Accelerator Focused on Food Tech Startups

WeWork Labs has its eyes set on food tech startups, according to TechCrunch . The innovation program was relaunched by WeWork, the coworking space giant, about a year ago. Now, it is hoping to grab the attention of early-stage startups from across the world. Currently, WeWork Labs has locations in Washington, D.C., New York City, Houston, and Seattle, along with various other international locations. The labs feature workshops, introductions to VCs, mentorship and pitch events to help founders grow their businesses and skills. WeWork Labs’ food tech initiative comes as more investors lean into food tech and other food-focused businesses.
