Lil Nas X is hoping to improve the financial futures of the youth through his partnership with Cash App. Earlier this month, the mobile payment service announced it would be catering to younger users, according to The Verge. Now, teens can create a Cash App account that allows them to send and receive money, among other features. It’s also worth noting that teens will need to have parental authorization before using the app along with certain parameters. Earlier in 2021, National Football League (NFL) player Odell Beckham Jr. joined the lineup of celebrities venturing into cryptocurrency. The Los Angeles Rams wide receiver entered the non-fungible token (NFT) space after purchasing a CryptoPunk 3365, AfroTech previously reported. Now, he is one of the latest to want to be paid in digital currency. In a partnership deal with Cash App, Odell Beckham Jr. announced that he would receive his $4.25 million salary for the 2021-2022 NFL season in Bitcoin, Decrypt reports, joining other players like Russell Okung, the first player in the NFL to receive his payout via Bitcoin. As Beckham Jr. is entering into the season with a new NFL team and a Bitcoin salary, he’s showing gratitude to his fans for riding along with him. Cash App has announced plans to provide funding to emerging artists. According to Yahoo!Entertainment! , the mobile payment service has launched its Cash App Studios, specifically designed to help independent creatives fund their projects. Those creatives include artists, designers, directors and musicians. “We’ve long upheld the importance of artistic expression at Cash App,” said Brian Grassadonia, lead at Cash App, in an official statement. “With the introduction of Cash App Studios, we’ll continue to support the freedom of the artist, both financially and creatively. In keeping with our guiding principle of economic empowerment, we are excited to support emerging artists who are limitless in their vision with this new program.” This isn’t the company’s first rodeo with artist collaborations as that it’s received recognition in a plethora of Hip-Hop songs.
