Stephen Curry's Education Never Left His Radar

Yahoo! Sports reports Curry attended the college between 2006-2009, where he piloted the Wildcats team and still holds the title of all-time leader in points. Curry was unable to finish his final semester of college as he was prepping for the NBA draft, but he let it be known, that his educational pursuits never left his radar.

“Stephen Curry has on many occasions emphasized the importance of education, how much he valued his Davidson College experience and that he is committed to earning his degree,” a statement from Davidson college read. “He needed to complete one semester of classwork.”

Curry Celebrates Feat

Curry’s accomplishment was made possible by his dedication and the support of professors, including two from Davidson, one from Stanford, and a UC Santa Cruz professor from his early days at the college.

Curry was unable to attend the school’s 185th commencement ceremony, as he is gearing up for the Western Conference finals. But still, to no surprise, Curry received a standing ovation from the crowd which included his mother who was in attendance.

“Dream Come True!! Class of 2010….aka 2022 but we got it done! Thanks to my whole village that helped me get across the finish line. Made the promise when I left and had to see it through. Official @davidsoncollege alum. Momma we made it! #greatdaytobeawildcat,” Curry wrote on Twitter.

Davidson college hopes to award Curry his degree in person at an undisclosed date.

“Now that he’s graduated, Davidson College looks forward to an opportunity on campus in the future when it will present his diploma,” the statement read.
