Nick Cannon has made many wise business moves.

And, he views his big family – a family which consists of six children – as his reward for all his hard work.

“I come from a big family, I have several siblings, being raised in an unorthodox family by my grandparents at times, I’ve experienced such a wide range of upbringing that I have such a love and passion for kids and family. I want a big family too,” he said to The New York Daily News. “The Lord has blessed me with what I asked.”

From his start as a child actor to his current role as a host and entrepreneur, Nick Cannon has made sacrifices from a very young age. And these sacrifices have more than paid off for him — and his family.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Cannon’s six children stand to inherit his $30 million fortune, as of this writing. And despite the fact that he’s viewed by some as “corny,” the reality is, he’s quite well-paid for the things he does. In addition to his extensive acting and producing resumé, Cannon has invested his money in real estate, different business ventures, and even a charity.

In other words, he handles his business.

Let’s take a look at how he does.

Editorial note: This listicle was updated on December 7, 2021, following the announcement of the untimely death of Zen Cannon, 5 months, from a malignant brain tumor. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Cannon family during this difficult time.

Though no longer in production, Nick Cannon once had a very successful back-to-school product line.

Most of Nick Cannon’s success came through his extensive film and television career. Ever since he broke through into the mainstream with “Drumline,” he’s been steadily working. Through NCredible Entertainment — which landed him on the Crain’s List of 40 under 40 more than 10 years ago — he’s brokered deals with the likes of NBC. He’s also released music on the NCredible imprint, most notably “The Invitation,” a diss track against Eminem (Arguably, he really shouldn’t have).

In April 2009, when he was still married to Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon purchased a home in Bel Aire, CA, for $6.975 million. When they divorced, they sold the home for $9 million, according to Variety.

But that wasn’t his first real estate purchase. Back in 2002, he purchased a newly-built property near Otay Ranch in San Diego, CA. According to The Los Angeles Times, he sold that home in May 2019 for more than $600,000 — earning about $182,000 in profit.

In 2015, after Cannon and Carey divorced, he moved to Saddle River, NJ, where he’s currently renting a mansion with two acres worth of property for $11,000 a month. According to TMZ, he currently has the option to buy the home for $3 million.

Did you know that Nick Cannon runs his own charity? According to the Nick Cannon Foundation’s official website, “The Nick Cannon Foundation has translated its vision – a community in which all residents have the opportunity for a high quality of life – into four community-impact objectives.” Their focus is on lupus awareness and basic human needs, social justice, entrepreneurship and leadership.
