It looks like Nas’ music catalog could soon be up for grabs if the price is right.

MC Serch reveals that he has begun taking offers for the sale of his ownership stake in the New York native’s catalog, which includes his debut album, “Illmatic,” and  his sophomore album “It Was Written,” HipHopDX reports.

The Catalog

“I have decided to sell all of the rights, including the global rights,” said MC Serch. “I started conversations with several companies a few months ago. For 27 years, it has provided my family through good times and bad. Now it’s time for a new chapter.”

Currently, “Illmatic” is the only rap album in the Library of Congress and played a role in the success of Nas as we know him today.

Wait there’s more: Not far behind it, is the 49-year-old’s “It Was Written,” which became his first multi-platinum-selling album within less than three months of its release. His hit track, “If I Ruled The World” featuring Lauryn Hill, became his only platinum-selling single, HipHopDX reports.

MC Serch & Nas' Music History

Serch and Nas have a long history in the music business. In fact, he is responsible for helping Nas land a deal at Columbia Records before going on to serve as the executive producer on both “Illmatic” and “It Was Written.”
