The early 2000s serve as a nostalgic point for many people. However, there are two rappers who had fans in a proverbial chokehold based on their talent and look. These two young men were Lil Bow Wow and Lil Romeo.
While many argue that their approach and trajectories differed, no one can deny the impact the two had on culture. From becoming the face of “106 & Park” to going to lead the Nickelodeon show, “Romeo!” – Lil Bow Wow and Lil Romeo were significant parts of the artistic success the 2000s brought.
Although those moments live in people’s brains rent-free, if you fast forward to adulthood, the realities of both superstars are far different. Lil Bow Wow now prefers his government name Shad Moss, and Lil Romeo has dropped the little and has fully embraced adulthood as an entrepreneur and businessman.
This intersection of adulthood and business acumen is where Romeo finds himself today. And the occurrences that surround the situation are enough to “make ‘em say ugh.”
How It All Began
Recently, Romeo Miller and his father, Master P, have been engaged in a little social media back and forth surrounding family issues, personal personas, and business deals. And while many believe that the details regarding all they’ve discussed should’ve remained private issues, the world became privy to further information about Miller’s long-standing relationship with the popular chip brand Rap Snacks.
Rap Snacks was founded in 1994 by James Lindsay. Complex purports that Romeo Miller purchased Rap Snacks in 2007 for an undisclosed amount after becoming the face of the brand with his Bar-B-Quin’ With My Honey flavor.
A Different Tune
Bunny-hop on over to the today of things, and Miller alleges in an Instagram post that he is just now being paid after years of ownership and promotion.
“I promoted a company for free for 15+ years based on the word of my pops, without being allowed to see any contracts or even meet with the team, and I stayed loyal,” Miller wrote in an Instagram post.
A Hopeful Future
There aren’t many specific details surrounding the deal and Miller’s apparent and public disagreement with his father regarding the issue. However, Master P entered the chat via an Instagram video, choosing to now remove himself from the public feud and focus on his work. He said that he loves his son, and the door is always open for him to return so the two can reconcile.
