These Philadelphia natives are giving back to the community in a huge way.
According to information shared exclusively with AfroTech, Philadelphia 76ers partner Michael Rubin has teamed up with Meek Mill and Kevin Hart to donate $15 million to 110 Philadelphia schools serving low-income students. The donation will assist thousands of students from underserved families during the 2022-2023 school year.
The latest move is in addition to plans that are already in motion to continue providing those underserved in the Philadelphia area with the resources needed to thrive.
A Continued Commitment
As previously reported by AfroTech, Philly native and rapper Meek Mill has always been known to give back to his hometown. He previously gifted laptops as a part of a $ 500,000-holiday giveaway for families in the city.
The latest donation is the next step in his and Rubin’s moves to give back to communities in need. The pair even created a $2 million scholarship fund in 2020 to support underprivileged students from pre-K to high school.
Supporting The Community
Aligning with keeping the community in mind and a top priority, Rubin and Meek Mill also partnered with the REFORM Alliance during the holidays to host 25 children negatively impacted by the criminal justice system and unjust probations.
Now, more students in need across Philly schools will reap the benefits of the power move of Michael Rubin, Meek Mill, and Kevin Hart’s recent donation.
