The “Airbnb of the outdoors” is headed to the U.K.

Outdoor stay provider Hipcamp has acquired London-based Tripadee Ltd. and has integrated its Cool Camping brand into its platform, according to a press release. The merge will allow more travelers to go abroad and book outdoor stays from the comfort of their homes through Hipcamp’s website and the company’s Android and iOS apps.

Hipcamp Is Backed By Jay-Z

Hipcamp, which received funding from Jay-Z’s Marcy Venture Partners, has witnessed exponential growth as the company experienced a 460 percent increase in bookings since 2019.

The company will welcome new growth as it expands its noteworthy camping, glamping, and RV stays across the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Australia, and the United States.

Hipcamp Will Bolster United Kingdom Farmers

Hipcamp hosts based in the United Kingdom will receive protection and benefits from the Hipcamp platform and will qualify to receive its Liability Insurance Policy designed to protect hosts.

In addition, booking through Hipcamp’s site will provide more significant economic opportunities for rural communities while aiding United Kingdom farmers, ranchers, vintners, and landowners to create new streams of income for their land, according to a press release.

“One of our core beliefs is that getting outside should be simple,” said Hipcamp Founder and CEO Alyssa Ravasio.

She continued: “I’m excited to further our shared mission of getting more people outside and inspiring a new love for nature.”
