Giannis Antetokounmpo has joined forces with his agents to become part owner of one of his favorite restaurants.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the basketball star had been a loyal customer at Avli since visiting its original Chicago, IL, location in 2018.

The Greek restaurant was primarily based in Chicago, but its dining experience has reached new territory with the help of its investors.
“Avli’s decision to come to Milwaukee was easy, as we feel there has never been a better time to eat and drink here,” Avli Founder and CEO Louie Alexakis said in a news release, according to the outlet. “We are thrilled to join Milwaukee’s hospitality community, and to bring our contemporary, yet approachable Greek cuisine out-of-state for the first time.”
As for Antetokounmpo’s involvement, it was confirmed by his agent Alex Saratsis on Instagram.
“I’ve been eating Greek food all my life. Never thought I would actually serve the food to paying customers,” Saratsis wrote. “So proud of the guys at @avli for opening the first restaurant outside of the Chicago area. Being a part owner of a restaurant along with @grgpanou and @giannis_an34 has and will be an awesome experience.”

Avil also shared a statement, per the outlet: “The Avli Milwaukee team is excited and proud to confirm that the group has been working alongside Giannis and his excellent team of professionals, including agent Alex Saratsis and Giorgos Panos, for some time. This has resulted in an investment from their team in Avli Milwaukee.”
The Milwaukee Avil location is already up and running for customers looking to get a taste of its menu items, which include contemporary salads, spreads, Greek entrees, and desserts.
The news comes just after another investment by Antetokounmpo. As AFROTECH previously told you, he and his siblings have become investors in Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s tech-based golf league, TGL.
“We want to make golf our own and for everybody,” Antetokounmpo shared in an Instagram post.
