The Antetokounmpo brothers have secured ownership in another sports team.

On Aug.29, Giannis, Thanasis, Kostas, and Alex Antetokounmpo announced that they are investors in the Los Angeles Golf Club, the inaugural team of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TGL golf league. As AFROTECH previously told you, TGL is a tech-infused golf league that will include 18 players competing as three-person teams in a series of 18-hole matches.

“We want to make golf our own and for everybody,” Giannis shared in an Instagram post.

The Antetokounmpos becoming a part of the ownership group places them alongside Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Alexis Ohanian, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., and newborn Adira River Ohanian — who became the youngest owner of two professional sports teams.

In partnership with TMRW Sports and the PGA Tour, the TGL is set to launch in January 2024 with 15 regular season matches.

The NBA-playing brothers have been on a mission to have ownership behind their family name across sports. In March, the four became minority investors in Major League Soccer (MLS) club Nashville SC, as previously shared by AFROTECH.

“My father was a professional soccer player, and it was the first sport I fell in love with in Greece,” Giannis said at the time of the purchase, according to ESPN. “I’ve always had the dream of owning a soccer team. When my brothers and I explored Nashville SC, we knew it was a team and a city that we wanted to get involved with. I couldn’t be more excited to join the Boys in Gold and can’t wait to come to a match at GEODIS Park soon!”

Thanasis added, “I know he’ll be so proud of us today, that this is happening. It’s not just the investment part of it. There’s a part of it that’s a legacy, that for us, it’s for generations to come that we’re part of this.”
