Imagine being under the age of 20 and having the ultimate come up in the non-fungible token space? One lucky artist doesn’t have to.

According to Fortune, Victor Langlois — who is the son of Salvadoran immigrants — has quickly become one of the most successful NFT artists of all time after his 24-hour limited public sale drew in almost $20 million in NFTs. It is the third-largest amount to be sold in the history of Nifty Gateway, a popular NFT marketplace.

“It’s been hard for me to process, to be honest,” said Langlois, who is better known under his artist name, FEWOCiOUS, when asked about his most recent success.

The Paint Drop

With the highly lucrative sale that took place called “Paint Drop,” Langlois’ art was sold to roughly 5,000 people. The NFTs featured small colorful blobs of paint that reflect his signature style, which he compares to the work of Michelangelo.

“The way I view it is, what would Michelangelo do if he had a laptop and social media to talk to the best creators on earth,” said Langlois.

As he continues to play around with his style and add on to his FewoWorld, Langlois said that the select number of “Paint” that comes with this particular NFT collection is the “building block to everything.”

He aims to someday have the paint be used to give characters within the world he’s building superpowers. However, he could even pull something totally different. For him, there is no set destination when it comes to the path he is forging for FewoWorld.

What's Next?

With a very successful run under his belt, Langlois now plans to use the money to continue to expand his creative ideas.

One way will be through the expansion of his “paint parties” where the artist invites the collectors of his NFT to a warehouse for freeflow painting with no strings attached!

“The dream isn’t to relax and do nothing, the dream is to draw,” he chimed.

One of his most notable pieces to date includes his “Nice to meet you, I’m Mr. MiSUNDERSTOOD which sold for 882 ETH, which is equivalent to $2.8 million.
