Arion Long’s Femly has taken another big step toward “scaling the future of restroom feminine care access.”

On Aug. 19, the Black-owned organic period care brand pitched at a demo day during the Fearless Fund Venture Capital Summit held in Atlanta, GA. As a result, Long announced that her company won a $150,000 investment from the venture capital firm, known for investing in women of color-led businesses.

“Alongside members of our operations and media team, I had the pleasure of witnessing the collective #impact of Arian Simone and Ayana Parsons,” Long wrote in an Instagram post. “There aren’t words to describe what it feels like to see yourself in a room full of founders who are rooting for you.”

She continued, “After I presented I was requested back on stage for a standing ovation. It’s safe to [say] we’re on cloud nine until further notice.”

Coming in second place, Long was one of the three winners of the Fearless Fund Demo Day. The Renatural, a beauty brand founded by Aasiyah Abdulsalam, won first place, and Saavor won third place. Total, there was $450,000 dispersed.

“We are absolutely thrilled to announce the remarkable achievements of our top three winners from the Venture Capital Summit Demo Day,” Fearless Fund shared via Instagram. “The level of innovation, dedication, and sheer brilliance showcased by these outstanding participants has left us truly inspired.”

Throughout this year, Femly has been making strides in expanding its reach to consumers. As previously reported by AFROTECH, in May, the company’s pads and panty liners hit the shelves of select CVS stores in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Long’s mission is for Femly’s hygiene machine to be accessible in more offices, local schools, colleges, etc.

“We’re doing things right here in Baltimore and on a national level. It is more product expansion, more dispensaries, restroom partnerships, and scaling,” Long previously told AFROTECH. “There are so many organizations that get $200 million in revenue or more. We want to be a unicorn that reaches a billion. So, we’re just taking all of the steps to align ourselves to change more lives.”
