All Def Cannabis is here, just in time for 4/20!
Interestingly, the origin of the term “4/20” isn’t what you may think. Despite the belief that its origins lie in California Senate Bill 420 (which was passed in 2003), its real origins are found in the 1970s in San Rafael, CA, where a group of teenage stoners (called The Waldos) would meet at 4:20 p.m. to consume marijuana. When a story about The Waldos appeared in “High Times” magazine, “4/20” culture spread like wildfire, and today, it’s considered the near-universal sign for consumption of cannabis.
In a press release announcement, it was revealed that All Def Digital — a digital media company founded by Russell Simmons, which is now owned by Culture Genesis — has marked the announcement with the release of several different cannabis-based channels.
First, All Def Cannabis is celebrating the release of the “Couch Locked” 420 Comedy Show. This show, co-created by rapper and cannabis entrepreneur Berner, features Michael Blackson and Paul Rodriguez as the hosts. The comedy special will include performances from Bob Saget, Lil Duval, Cipha Sounds, and All Def Cannabis comedians Precious Hall and Teddy Ray.
Have you ever smoked some good grass and munched out in front of your favorite stoner flicks? “Couch Locked” takes that same concept to the next level by incorporating live shows, interactive performances, and other cool content in place of “How High” or “Pineapple Express.”
The company has also announced the release of the All Def 420 Con, which is in its second year. As its name implies, it’s a convention in the style of New York Comic Con and San Diego Comic-Con, and consists of live panel discussions, smoke-a-thons, audience interaction, and content on anything and everything cannabis.
Finally, the company has revealed the release of the All Def App. This is a mobile-based app that will exclusively feature All Def Cannabis content, and is available for both Android and Apple products. Downloading the app requires age verification, and is available now.
