Have you met the “Corn Kid?”
The viral sensation has most likely already stolen your heart — and, he even made a cameo in a recent Chipotle video via Twitter, too.
His Introduction To The World
It all started when Tariq — aka the Corn Kid — appeared on Recess Therapy in a video posted to Instagram and TikTok.
The platform is known for interviewing children on New York City playgrounds and has 2.2 million followers on Instagram and over 180,000 followers on TikTok, as of this writing. Part of that following may have come from the Corn Kid, who made quite the impression as he hilariously reveled in his love for corn.
“Ever since I was told that corn was real, it tasted good. But when I tried it with butter, everything changed. I love corn,” Tariq told interviewer Julian Shapiro-Barnum.
“Look at this thing!” he continued. “I can’t imagine a more beautiful thing!”
Tariq then closes out the interview with arguably the most memorable soundbite.
“I hope you guys have a corntastic day,” he said. “What?! It’s just a pun about corn!”

"It's Corn" Song
Fast forward and the interview has been turned into a viral song produced by TikTok user @schmoyoho. Proceeds will be split between Tariq and his family.
“Hey folks! Chipotle And Other Partnerships
That won’t be the only bag Tariq is securing thanks to his time in the limelight.
Recently, Tariq also appeared in a video on Chipotle’s Twitter, which brings up the question — how much will he be paid for these appearances?
It’s unclear how much he made for that specific appearance. However, according to Romper, Tariq has joined Cameo to create content in a ballpark “ranging from $145 to corporate videos $400” as the “Corn Kid.”
On the other hand, AfroTech inquired about a video from the Corn Kid and found that his rate starts at $200.
Plus, with add-ons such as “more instructions” and “expedited delivery,” then taxes and fees, you could be looking at a total of $500 for the Corn Kid.
