This 12-Year-Old Made History As One of the Youngest Composers For the NY Philharmonic

Grace Moore isn’t your average 12-year-old. She’s making history as one of the youngest composers for the New York Philharmonic. According to Pix11 , Moore is a seventh-grade student at Poly Prep in Dyker Heights, a small neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York. She began playing the piano at age two and immediately fell in love. Moore is a member of the New York Philharmonic’s Very Young Composers program, an after-school program that exposes students — as young as 8-years-old — to the orchestra, per Because of Them We Can (BOTWC). Since joining the program, Moore has had the chance to create a piece of music that debuted this past October.
