Sensationnel is giving back in a huge way!

The leading wig and hair extensions manufacturer is donating $100,000 to four organizations that support and uplift Black women, children, and students.

Those organizations include Black Girls Code, The Loveland Foundation, Thurgood Marshall College Fund, and United Negro College Fund (UNCF).

“Black History Month is a time to reflect and honor the history of those who made great strides and contributions towards the advancement of the Black community,” said Sensationnel Vice President, Louis Choi in a news release. “With respect for the past, we have chosen to highlight those who currently push for a better future. The four organizations were specifically chosen as they support Black Women, children, and students who are sure to make huge impacts on the world.”

Since its inception in 2011, Black Girls Code has managed to work to close the gap between those with regular access to digital technology and those without it. The organization’s ultimate goal is to encourage Black girls to occupy the millions of job openings in tech.

Black Girls Code offers after-school programs and multiple workshops to Black girls in an effort to introduce them to the world of coding.

The United Negro College Fund and Thurgood Marshall College Fund have been committed to giving back to HBCUs for decades. For years, they have stressed the importance of not only education but the foundation of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

“We are delighted to have the support of Sensationnel Hair,” said Betsy Burton-Strunk, Vice President of Development of Thurgood Marshall College Fund in the release. “Our commitment to empowerment, advocacy, and Black Culture is directly aligned with their dedication to making a difference in the Black community through their personal expression of beauty through hairstyles. We are grateful for their direct support.”

The Loveland Foundation is committed to mental health in the Black community and puts the mental wellbeing of Black women and girls at the forefront. Through this foundation, Black women and girls are equipped with the financial resources to attend therapy.

“Black women and girls deserve access to healing, and that healing will impact generations,” reads the company’s website.

For Sensationnel, it’s all about giving back to the Black community along with pushing the company toward a more inclusive workplace and culture.
