Shaq's Son Shareef O'Neal Signs NIL Deal With Crypto Startup NFT Genius

Shaquille O’Neal once said he wants his kids to work hard for their money, and his son Shareef O’Neal is doing just that. Forbes reports that the basketball athlete has signed a long-term name, image, and likeness (NIL) deal with crypto startup NFT Genius. Shareef will release a non-fungible token (NFT) series with the celebrity-backed platform on Dec. 13. Michigan State's Mel Tucker Set To Become The Highest-Paid Black Head Coach In Sports

Michigan State University (MSU) and Head Football Coach Mel Tucker are reportedly closing in on a groundbreaking deal, a deal that would not only make him the highest-paid Big Ten football coach but also cement Mel Tucker as the highest-paid Black head coach in sports. Tucker is currently in his second year of a contract signed with MSU back in February of 2020, where he is earning $5.56 million per year. Despite being in the early stages of the agreement, the new negotiations follow after Tucker’s name has been in the basket for a slew of coaching vacancies at other institutions. Most recently a position at Louisiana State University, which would become available by the end of this season as current head coach, Ed Orgeron’s contract has been terminated for undisclosed reasons. Full-Ride Scholarship Offers Are Rolling In For Spelling Bee Champ Zaila Avant-garde At Only Age 14

Zaila Avant-garde is already attracting the attention of colleges! According to The Advocate, Southern University is now the third Louisiana school to offer the National Spelling Bee champion a full-ride scholarship. LSU Names William Tate IV As The First Black President In The School's History

Louisiana State University (LSU) has just made a power move with the school’s first Black president. During the Board of Supervisors Meeting, the Board named William Tate IV as the school’s next president. Tate currently serves as an Education Foundation Distinguished Professor and Provost as well as Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of South Carolina. “This is a very pivotal time at our university, from economic, environmental, social challenges, but we are doing great things at this place. From our academic achievements, our enrollment, our diversity, I’m very proud of what we’ve accomplished,” said LSU Board Chair Robert Dampf in an official press release. “We set about to find a great leader, and we found one.” He will replace current LSU President Tom Galligan who has served as the school’s president since January 2000.
