At one point in time, girl groups ran the world (or the culture so to speak). From Total to En Vogue to Xscape, and everyone in between, the ladies dominated the charts, and despite the fact there are very few that exist today, it is worth taking a trip down memory lane to highlight some of those who left a mark on history. While girl groups dominated in the late 1990s and early 2000s, it is important to note that their existence started way before that. Media Expert Sheila Eldridge Launched the Mocha Podcasts Network to Uplift Black Voices

Media entrepreneur Sheila Eldridge is using her platform to push the voices of Black and brown women to the front. Mocha Podcasts Network (MPN) showcases Black and brown women through conversations “from a Black perspective” and is dedicated to allowing their voices to lead the way. “A platform like MPN is so important and relevant to our community,” shared Eldridge during an interview with Black Enterprise. “We know that historically Black businesses often don’t receive the advertising resources and campaigns that other companies do.” Black Enterprise reports the network’s initial roster includes shows from boss women like Sherri Shepherd, Kym Whitley, Loni Love, music legends, En Vogue, and more. For nearly two decades, Eldridge has been responsible for running Miles Ahead Entertainment & Broadcasting.
