Chingy is back in the headlines like it’s 2003.

Our sister site Blavity reports that the rapper — a former protegée of Ludacris — was thrust back into the spotlight after an Estée Lauder executive was fired for posting a racist meme featuring a reference to the “Right Thurr” Hip-Hop hitmaker.

“The meme portrayed a fake book cover with Sesame Street characters Big Bird and Mr. Snuffleupagus, along with a racial epithet in the title joking about the coronavirus pandemic,” Blavity reported.

But while John Demsey fumbled a reported salary of $10 million/year, Complex reports Chingy didn’t understand what all the fuss was about.

“I think it was just an honest mistake that the guy made,” he said in a video response. “I want to say peace and love to J. Demsey. I didn’t take it no type of way.”
