21 Savage is not only making moves within the music industry but the community as well.

According to Complex, the Atlanta rapper has partnered with Chime to create an online financial literacy and scholarship program with a goal of helping high school students learn more about how to manage their money.

21’s Bank Account Financial Literacy Campaign will offer a six-course online program that is open to everyone. The mobile-first, interactive program — powered by EVERFI — will be available in both English and Spanish teaching banking, budgeting, credit scores, and more in the form of a playlist.

In addition to the program, the “Bank Account” rapper is putting his money where his mouth is and offering 100 $1,000 scholarships to high schoolers across the U.S. upon the completion of the program.

“I’m happy to team up with Chime to make this year’s Bank Account Campaign bigger than ever with a new national financial literacy and scholarship program,” said 21 in a press release. “I’ve been an advocate for financial literacy because I believe it can help free youth to focus on the more important things in life.”

He first began promoting financial literacy back in 2018 through the launch of his Bank Account Campaign which this year has pivoted to the virtual space. The goal of Bank Account at Home is to ensure that more people can access resources during the pandemic.

The relationship with Chime began back in September when the company supported 21’s fifth annual back-to-school drive in his home state of Atlanta by donating laptops, free WiFi, backpacks, face masks, and more to young students and their families.

To be considered for the scholarship, students at the high school level of grades nine through 12 can submit an essay upon completion of the virtual course before Dec. 4.
