If you’re a fan of Mexican cuisine, then the Mexican Pizza or the Grande Chalupa from Taco Bell has probably been in your food rotation.
For years, the fast-food chain has been giving people a convenient south-of-the-border experience and has now named Sean Tresvant as its new CEO.
According to Business Wire, Tresvant is being promoted to CEO after working as Taco Bell’s global chief brand and strategy officer.
Tresvant will begin his new role, effective Jan. 1, 2024, succeeding Mark King. As CEO, he will report to Chief Executive Director David Gibbs of Yum! Brands, Inc. — Taco Bell’s parent company.
Tresvant’s primary responsibility as the lead executive will be to drive the fast-food chain’s global growth strategy, overall business performance, and franchise operations.
“Sean is a visionary business leader and best-in-class brand builder who is driving transformative R.E.D. (relevant, easy, distinctive) sales-powering efforts, from omni-channel initiatives to digital customer touchpoints, to accelerate growth and further elevate and differentiate the Taco Bell fan and team member experience,” said Gibbs in a press release.
Tresvant’s ascension to CEO has had rocket-like power. His journey with Taco Bell began in 2022 as the global brand officer. He was quickly promoted to an expanded role to include the brand’s strategic framework.
During his time, he led big cultural moments to support the brand’s mission and reputation. This work includes the viral return of the Mexican Pizza.
“The love our fans and team members have for Taco Bell is extraordinary and means we’re in a unique position to push the limits on culture and become a brand that inspires and enables the world to Live Más,” said Tresvant.
Before joining Taco Bell, Tresvant brought more than 15 years of leadership to the table, working with other global brands like Nike.
