Steph Curry’s Unanimous Media Launches Initiative to Amplify Diverse Voices in Entertainment

Steph Curry’s multimedia production company, Unanimous Media, has announced the launch of Pathways Alliance — a new development initiative that aims to give diverse talent opportunities a chance to amplify their creative voices and visions across TV, film, documentaries and podcasts.

Variety reports that over an 18-month period, the Unanimous team and the Underrated Book Club team will be working with select authors to create new projects across these entertainment mediums.

According to Deadline, Unanimous Media co-founder and CCO Erick Peyton stated that, “Stephen and I wanted to launch an initiative where we could work with authors to not just option their material but wholly invest in them. By tapping into our relationships and partnerships, we are able to amplify these authors and create a platform for their ideas to be developed and heard.”

“Unanimous is creating a media ecosystem in TV, film and audio and it is important that we shepherd new voices into that system,” he added.

Hilary Awad — head of the Underrated Book Club team — also shared her excitement behind the new initiative with Variety and how it’s working to induct some of the book club’s most promising voices.

“Our shared mission to amplify these authors illustrates Stephen’s vision to see all his business endeavors create a cohesive ecosystem,” she said.

The first author Pathways Alliance has chosen for the book club is Wes Moore — whose bestselling book, “The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates,” was featured as the October Book Club pick back in 2011.

“I am thrilled to be selected as the inaugural member of Pathways Alliance,” Moore said in a statement. “Stories promote action, and at a time where storytelling and content creation is more important than ever before, I am honored to work with a team that is committed to making the world stronger one platform at a time.”

Additionally, Pathways Alliance is working with Cole Brown — who wrote “Greyboy: Finding Blackness in a White World” released last September — as well as other authors who will be added to the newly-launched program throughout the year.
