It’s no question that if it’s one thing that Saweetie is going to do, she’s going to chase a bag.

As previously reported by AfroTech, the certified hustler has consistently been on her grind racking up deals including her partnership with McDonald’s — making her the company’s first Black female musician to have a celebrity menu collaboration.

Now, the booked and busy entrepreneur wants to help Gen Z build its own business acumen.

On Dec. 10, Saweetie confirmed that she will be teaching a class at the University of Southern California (USC), her alma mater, iHeart Radio reports.

Professor Saweetie

The rapper will be teaching a branding and marketing course to offer USC students the opportunity to learn how businesses should move when it comes to catering to what’s trending today.

“It’s important for businesses to evolve with modern consumers, generation Z, the millennials. They’re the people spending the money,” Saweetie told iHeart Radio.

Along with confirmation regarding the course, she also shared her personal insight on what it takes to start a brand.

“[Pay attention to] your consumer. What do they love? What do they believe in? What do you believe in? Know who you’re talking to and know yourself.”

Saweetie's Entrepreneurial Spirit

Saweetie’s upcoming course isn’t the first time she’s returned to USC to spread her gems of entrepreneurial wisdom.

In October 2021, Blavity U previously shared that she visited her former business professor, Albert Napoli, and his class to speak with the students. In her guest lecture, Saweetie discussed entrepreneurship, storytelling and meditation writing.

“I saw in her the drive and focus that entrepreneurs have,” Napoli told Daily Trojan in 2019. “She had this passion, this drive. I knew exactly what kind of direction she needed. I see a lot of dreamers and not a lot of doers. Diamonté is definitely a doer.”
