We recently told you about how Master P partnered up with a former Tesla engineer to create the world’s first-ever Black-owned supercar. Now, the rapper-turned-mogul is proving that, once again, he’s here to not only make money, but to effectuate change, as well.
According to Complex, the Louisiana native took to his Instagram to share the news that he’s looking to own an HBCU in the near future.
“I used to want to own an NBA team but now I want to own an HBCU,” he said. “This message is all about educating our people. Anybody that’s listening to this and has a business, I want y’all to join this movement with me. We need to make sure our kids get educated the way other cultures are educated.”

In his announcement, Master P made it clear that one of the reasons he wanted to own an HBCU was because Kamala Harris — the current Vice President of the United States, and the first Black woman to have the title — graduated from Howard University in Washington, D.C.
“More women graduate from HBCU’s than any other university and I love that,” he said in the caption of his video announcement.
